Congratulations to Oxygen4Energy cyclist, Cameron Hoffman for winning the Utah State Road Race Championship and then following it up with another victory at the Terry McGinnis Memorial Criterium.
The Utah State Road Race Championship is an 80 mile race doing 5 laps on a 16 mile circuit with 2 main hills and a 600 ft elevation gain. Hoffman spent most of the day in a small break away group. Not known as a fast solo rider, this was a gamble, but in the end the gamble paid off. The last 7-8 kilometers, Hoffman gave it everything he had and was able to cross the finish line first and take home another State Road Race Championship.
The Terry McGinnis Memorial Criterium was a fast intense race, full of action. Through a lot of strategic effort, Hoffman was able to come out of the last turn in the lead and sprint his way to his second victory in two weeks.
According to Hoffman, "All of my tough training earlier in the year is starting to pay off. I used a full can of oxygen before each of these races and felt really good throughout each race. It's been a while since I have completed a solo victory. It's nice to know I can still do it if I need to!"
