Felipe Bastos wins Alabama State Games Triathlon for 3rd Straight Year!
Despite a slow-healing injury that has made intense training impossible for the past few months, Oxygen4energy sponsored athlete, Felipe Bastos won the USAT sanctioned Alabama State Games Sprint Triathlon by over 4 minutes and beat his previous course record by 90 seconds! This is the 3rd year in a row that Bastos has won this event and it marks his 37th Overall Career win.
According to Bastos, "The weather at the Alabama is always blazing hot. Knowing this in advance was helpful as I left a frozen bottle on the run so I could cool myself when I hit the first mile. The plan worked well, and I ended up going 90 seconds faster than last year, with less training, and a yet-to-be-fully-healed injury. The race was in a time trial format, so I had to push it from the start. Knowing the course well, I did hold back a little on the hilly bike course in order to save some energy for the run. Prior to the race I had 15 shots of oxygen which kept me feeling strong and fresh the whole race. After the race, I took another 15 shots and recovered so fast I decided to bike home!"
Just another dominant performance by another Oxygen4energy athlete.
