Powerlifting News: Chris Janek wins 2010 GPC World Championship
Congratulations to Oxygen4Energy Athlete, Chris Janek, on winning “Best Overall Lifter” at the 2010 GPC World Powerlifting Meet in Prague, Czech Republic.

The meet ran from September 7-11, 2010 where more than 420 lifters representing 30 different countries competed. The Professional Football player turned Pro Powerlifter described the event as being, “…kind of like the Superbowl.”
Janek, hailing from Granite City, IL, competed on the event’s final day but that was all that was needed to capture the meet’s victory honors. Competing in the 308lb. weight class, Janek netted a total of 2,605 lbs throughout the competition’s three stages – squat, bench press, and dead lift. Chris believes this impressive showing was just a mere building block towards the successes to come.
Now, with a scheduled break from competition, Janek can not only reflect on his progress but also prepare for his next competition. Partnered with Oxygen4Energy, Chris will continue to progress no matter where the challenge is set. “Using my oxygen at GPC worlds not only helped me recover from the 15 hr plane ride and recover faster than the competition, it helped me become a world champion and receive 2010 GPC Powerlifting Overall Best Lifter!"
Just another dominant performance by an Oxygen4Energy athlete!
